DSU?s BRITTANY MARSHALL NAMED TO ALL-MEAC WOMEN?S TENNIS FIRST TEAM

Dover, Del. (Apr. 19, 2013) --- Delaware State University's Brittany Marshall (sr.; Dagsboro, Del.) has been selected to the 2013 All-MEAC Women's Tennis First Team, a first for a Hornet player.

Marshall was one of six All-MEAC First Team players, selected by a voting panel of head coaches and sports information representatives.

This is the latest honor for Marshall, who earned Historically Black Colleges & University All-America recognition in singles and doubles last fall.

Marshall posted a 12-3 overall singles record and a 9-4 doubles mark during the spring 2013 season. Her doubles record included a 7-1 mark in No. 2 matches.

Including her fall 2012 matches, Marshall is 16-3 in singles play and 12-5 in doubles this DSU tennis season.

She is the only Delaware State player selected to the 2013 All-MEAC First or Second teams.

Maria Cracium of South Carolina State was named as the 2013 MEAC Player-of-the-Year, while Aissa Muamba of North Carolina Central is the league's top rookie.

North Carolina Central's David Nass was selected by his peers as the MEAC Coach-of-the-Year.
